SMS Opt-Out for Customers


GlassFlow can automatically send SMS messages to your customers when a job is scheduled or when a technician is on the way. Some customers may prefer not to receive these texts — here's how to manage that.


Who Receives Automated SMS?


SMS is sent automatically to retail customers only when:

  • A job is scheduled (sends an appointment confirmation)
  • A job moves to In Progress on the day of the appointment (sends a reminder)


SMS is not sent to:

  • Business or dealership customers (regardless of opt-out settings)
  • Customers without a phone number on file
  • Retail customers who have opted out


How to Opt a Customer Out


  1. Open the customer's record from the Customers page or from any of their jobs
  2. Look for the SMS Notifications toggle
  3. Switch it off


The customer will no longer receive automated texts for any of their jobs going forward.


How to Opt a Customer Back In


Follow the same steps and switch the toggle back on.


SMS for Your Whole Shop


There's also a global SMS toggle in Account Settings. If SMS is turned off at the account level, no customers will receive texts — regardless of individual opt-out settings. This is useful if you're troubleshooting or temporarily pausing SMS.
